The Minister of Arts and Culture, Ms. Lulu Xingwana invites members of the media to witness the signing of film co-production treaty between the Government of the Republic of South Africa and the Government of Australia.

The Australian Government will be represented by Ms. Kate Ellis, Minister for Early Childhood Education, Child Care, Youth and Sport.

The Minister of Arts and Culture, Ms Lulu Xingwana invites media to a ceremony to announce the new board for the Downtown Music Hub initiative. The historic Downtown Studios were bought just over a year ago by the Department of Arts and Culture. It is the intention of the department, in conjunction with the music industry, to develop this iconic building and its facilities into a state-of-the-art local content music production hub that will produce high quality content for the market place.

As part of government’s efforts to develop and promote South Africa’s 11 official languages, the National Language Policy Framework (NLPF) and implementation plan were developed and adopted in 2003.
