Arts and Culture Deputy Minister, Ms Rejoice Mabudafhasi, will launch the Mzansi Libraries Online Pilot Project at Kwa-Ndwalane Public Library, Port Shepstone on 17 March 2015. The event is part of the South African Library Week campaign which is aimed at popularising the importance of reading and writing in human development.
The Minister of Arts & Culture, Mr Nathi Mthethwa and the Chinese Minister of Arts and Culture will have a meeting to sign a bilateral agreement on Arts, Culture and Heritage.
This follows a special opening concert to launch the 2015 Year of China in South Africa at the State Theatre in Pretoria today.
Arts and Culture Deputy Minister Rejoice Mabudafhasi will open the 2015 Cape Town Carnival on Saturday, 14 March 2015 at Green Point in Cape Town. This years’ Cape Carnival will be celebrated under theme: “Elemental: Celebrating fire, water, air, earth - the unstoppable forces that shape us and our environment”.
The Minister of Arts & Culture, Mr Nathi Mthethwa will lead a high level government delegation – including officials from Department of International Relations & Cooperation – at a special concert to launch the 2015 year of China in South Africa.They will engage with a high level official from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to cement relations between the two countries.
The concert marks the official launch of the year of China and will take place at the State Theatre from 2pm.

The Minister of Arts & Culture, Mr Nathi Mthethwa will host a special social cohesion community conversation at the Youth Centre in Chartsworth in Durban on Friday 13 March from 8 – 11am.
The event is expected to be attended by more than 500 people including civil society, religious leaders and government officials.
The Minister of Arts & Culture, Mr Nathi Mthethwa - in partnership with the Department of Justice and Correctional Services - will lead and coordinate the main celebration of the Human Rights Month programme that will largely take place in the Eastern Cape on 21 March 2015.
Firstly, the main event will take place at the Rosedale Field in Uitenhage in the Eastern Cape on the 21 March 2015 from 10am.

The accreditation process is live accreditation (photographs of applicants will be taken). Each member of the media will be required to PERSONALLY collect the accreditation card between the 12th and the 14th of March 2015 at Pella Traditional House.
