Arts and Culture Deputy Minister, Ms Rejoice Mabudafhasi will host Craft Imbizo with Crafters and Craft Stakeholders on 15 November 2016 at Bushbuckridge in Mpumalanga.

The Honourable MEC for Culture, Sport and Recreation in Mpumalanga Province, Ms Norah Mahlangu will join the Deputy Minister on this occasion.

This Imbizo seeks to strengthen government’s efforts in the implementation of the Programme of Action as well as government’s monitoring and evaluation system.

The programme will showcase the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Orchestra Osipov Balalaika is expected to take the audience through a temperate emotional journey and mystery.

The Orchestra will also perform in Johannesburg and Pretoria on the 13th and 14th November 2016, respectively.

President Jacob Zuma will tomorrow, 27 October 2016, lead the wreath-laying ceremony in memory of the late ANC President Oliver Reginald Tambo in Wattville, Benoni.

Annually during the month of October, the City of Ekurhuleni leads a month-long programme of activities in commemoration of the life of Mr Oliver Reginald Tambo and his wife Dr Adelaide Tambo. Themed “Celebrating the life, times and legacy of O.R Tambo, 99 years and counting towards the centenary” this year’s celebrations would have coincided with the stalwart’s 99th birthday.

The Living Legends Legacy Programme (LLLP) initiative is meant to engage the living legends actively in programmes that promote arts and culture development as well as providing opportunities for them to interact and share their knowledge and experience with the younger generation of artists.

Please also note that there will be a dry-run on Sunday, at the Samora Machel Monument at 15h00.

The Deputy Minister of Arts and Culture Ms Rejoice Mabudafhasi invite members of the media to the Commemoration of King Langalibalele 1 of Amahlubi nation. The commemoration plays an important role in advancing nation building and social cohesion. The event is part of the heritage restoration projects that seeks to transform the country’s heritage landscape.

The commemorations takes place under the theme: “We are bringing back the dignity of amahlubi nation that was taken away by the colonial system”.
