North West Province Brey Community Arts Centre (Bophirima)

The centres first obtained funding from the National Lottery Distribution Fund in 2004 and subsequently from the DAC Investing In Culture Fund in 2005.  Despite compounding challenges that surround these centres, they have achievements to show off:

Kanana CAC:- The centre has secured exclusive use of an old township beer hall and it is currently under renovations.
Classes are carried out daily in the disciplines (Arts, Drama & Dance)
Two more disciplines have been added in Kanana to the above, sculpture and fine art
Workshops for quality standard for art products have been conducted through MAPPP-SETA. 
The centres and the province continue to work towards resolving constraints such as obtaining funds for the post s of managers, management training programmes and assessment of skills programmes rendered.
