Call for application for persons to serve on the Human Language Technology Expert Panel (HLTEP)
The Department of Arts & Culture invites persons who are interested in the field of HLT to apply to serve as members of its ministerial HLTEP. The aim of the Panel is to advise the Department on issues relating to HLT. HLT activities are in line with the constitutional provision that requires that practical and positive measures be taken to elevate the status and advance the use of South Africa’s official languages. HLT activities initiated and supported by the Department seek to achieve this through the development and use of technology.
- Advise the Department in matters relating to HLT,
- Assist in the evaluation of HLT project proposals and outputs, and
- Attend 2 to 4 HLT meetings per annum at the premises of the Department.
Requirements: Nominees should be active in the HLT field.
Term of office: Five (5) years. (No remuneration)
