Department of Arts and Culture to launch the African Charter for Cultural Renaissance

The Minister of Arts and Culture, Mr Nathi Mthethwa  will host a media  launch and seminar of the African Charter for Cultural Renaissance at the Ditsong Museum of Cultural History under the theme” Pan Africanism and African Cultural Renaissance – Towards Agenda 2063”.

The Launch will consolidate the South African arts, culture and heritage position on the African Union (AU) Agenda 2063. A Committee to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the Charter will also be announced during the launch. The seminar will highlight amongst others, the role of government in promoting African culture and peace amongst the states.

This event will bring together academics, arts managers and practitioners, policy makers and non-profit organisations to celebrate this important milestone.
