Deputy Minister Phaahla will speak at the launch of Living Legends Project

The Deputy Minister of Arts and Culture, Dr Joe Phaahla will give a keynote address at the launch of “Living Legends Project” to be held at the M1 Studios in Auckland Park on Friday, 28 February and 01 March 2014.

The project is collaboration between SAFM and the National Lotteries Board and it aims to honour jazz musicians while they are still alive. It involves the arrangement of new music material for performance and recording in front of a live audience, a documentary of the musician as well as compiling a book of the music scores. This material will subsequently be distributed to reference libraries of the SABC and institutions that teach music.
