Located at Salvokop, in the City of Tshwane, Freedom Park - a National liberation Heritage Monument and an Icon of Humanity and freedom will be playing a major role in honoring the former statesman, Tata Madiba.

Chosen as one the official Public viewing area, Freedom Park has lined up a series of activities in support of the National program of action throughout the week in honoring its Patron in Chief, Tata Madiba.

Entrance to the Park will be free throughout the week of mourning to allow members of the public to utilize this dignified space to pay their last tribute and watch memorial proceedings in the big screen. However, visitors who would like to be guided or self-guided on tours will continue to pay their necessary dues including venue hire. It is expected that its personnel, The Council, Interfaith Committee, national and international leaders including members of the public will contribute immensely in paying a befitting tribute to the father of Reconciliation throughout the week of mourning. Furthermore, Freedom Park is making a clarion call to media houses to broadcast from the Park.
