Minister Mashatile will sign performance agreement with public entities

The Minister of Arts and Culture, Mr Paul Mashatile will sign a Shareholders Compact (Performance Agreement) with the leadership of 27 public entities that report to him on Friday 4 April 2014. The Department of Arts and Culture has established various public entities to assist it in implementing its mandate. The Department has an interest in ensuring that its public entities are better managed and accountable through sound corporate governance and performance management systems. This practice ensures that there is greater impact through integrated and coherent plans.
One of the tools the Department has introduced for the past two years, in pursuit of the aforementioned benefits is a Shareholders Compact which represents the agreement between the Executive Authority (the Minister) and the Accounting Authority (represented by the Chairperson of the Board of the public entity).
