The 2014/2015 MGE Open Call for Proposals has been concluded.  Please download the list of all successful applications by province and by category of applications. List of MGE 2014-15 Successful Projects

Please note that approval must be regarded as provisional pending:  

  • The submission of a detailed project plan and the following documentation on or before 19 September 2014.  
  • Written confirmation that the project is feasible in the current financial year or plans for the project in 2015/2016.
  • The submission of the following documentation:
Private Companies (CC, PTY LTD) Non for Profit organisations (NGO’S, Trusts) Individual applications
  • Certified copy of SA ID
  • Original valid tax clearance certificate
  • latest financial statements
  • Original bank statement
  • Detailed Curriculum Vitae of the coordinator
  • 2 most recent letters of reference from arts organisations, artists and/or community leaders
  • Proof of co-financing or part-financing depending on the amount requested and the total budget of the project.
  • Information on the Board of Directors of the company.
  • Letter from the beneficiary governing structure providing the full name and identity number of the individual empowered to enter into contracts (if applicable).
  • Entity Maintenance Form (supplied by DAC) providing the beneficiaries banking details confirmed by the relevant financial institution.
  • In the case of Public Art Project:  A letter from the Municipal Manager/Parks & Recreation Manager/Chief of the Village, which endorses, supports and gives approval of the project if it is fixed. In some cases South African Heritage Resources Agency or its Provincial-level entity dealing with Heritage, may be required to give additional information.
  • Certified copies of SA IDs’ of at least 2 office bearers of the organisation
  • Original Tax Clearance Certificate
  • Organisation’s certified copies of bank statement
  • Certified proof of the organisation’s registration.
  • Latest audited financial statements
  • 2 letters of reference from arts organisations, artists and or community leaders
  • Proof of co-financing or part-financing depending on the amount requested and the total budget of the project.
  • Letter from the beneficiary governing structure providing the full name and identity number of the individual empowered to enter into contracts (if applicable).

The Department is aware of the ongoing disruptions to the South African Postal Service and would like to request that documentation is scanned and emailed, hand delivered or couriered.
Please note that in terms of the governing framework of the MGE programme, Treasury approval will be required before funds can be transferred, and as such, contracting and payment processes will not be immediate.
