The official opening of Bontleng Public Library

The National Department of Arts and Culture and the Mpumalanga Provincial Department of the Culture, Sports and Recreation invite you to the official opening of Bontleng Public Library. This event will take place on Thursday the 30th of August 2012 in Delmas, Nkanagala Municipality.

The Deputy Minister of Arts and Culture, Dr Joe Phaahla will deliver a keynote address and unveil a plaque to symbolise the official opening of the library. The event will start with a Fun-run at 9h00 and followed by the main programme at 10h00.

The Department of Arts and Culture has allocated a grant of R4 875 925 to the province of Mpumalanga to build and upgrade infrastructure.

Through this project, a significant number of jobs for community of Bontleng Township were created in the process. The Library consists of computer room for research purposes and school projects, as well as an activity room meant to enhance early childhood development. This facility will benefit Botleng township community by promoting a culture of reading, lifelong learning and literacy.

The Department of Arts and Culture is proud to promote academic and scientific research freedom as part its primary legislative mandate.
