Business and Arts South Africa is calling for Johannesburg based arts organisations to apply to be part of the upcoming BASA Boardbank event in partnership with Africa Empowered.
Taking place on November 20th at Gallery MOMO in Johannesburg, the event is tailor-made for arts organisations that are currently looking for board directors in a variety of capacities.
Among these are marketing, finance, strategy, legal, HR and operations – all key aspects in ensuring new, fledging, or even long-standing arts organisations are run in a sustainable way that is mindful of corporate governance issues.
BASA BoardBank hosts skilled professionals who want to engage with the arts sector by voluntarily sitting on the Board of an arts organisation. Within a relaxed environment, these professionals can meet with arts organizations in need of board members, potentially marking the start of a fruitful and long-term relationship.
Arts organizations wanting to participate in the November BASA Boardbank event must fulfill several key requirements.
These include having a constitution, a board structure with defined roles and the need for candidates to fulfill positions on their board.
“Our BoardBank is one of the highlight events on the BASA calendar each year,” says Marketing and Operations Manager,Lonwabo Mavuso.
“Arts organisations that are in need of a board member will find BoardBank an enriching experience, and we have always had a significant success rate in matching organisations
with potential board members over the years.”
To apply to be part of the Business and Arts South Africa BoardBank event in November, submit a motivational letter specially outlining the expertise your organisations requires, along with your
organisation constitution. Please submit your application to Jessica Dennison at no later than 7 November. For more information please contact 011 447 2295.
