President Zuma to meet with Musicians

President Jacob Zuma will tomorrow, 12 December 2012, meet with musicians in Pretoria for government to report back on issues they raised in 2009.

The meeting is a follow up to the Presidential engagement with musicians and actors on 17 November 2009, where concerns and challenges were raised. Areas of concern raised at that meeting included copyright, piracy, airtime on radio and television, social welfare issues and taxation.

A decision has been taken to split the two sectors for the report back. Tomorrow, government will report back to musicians. A meeting with actors and other performing artists will take place next year.

Venue:  Sefako M Makgatho Presidential Guesthouse, Pretoria
Time:  10:30am (media is requested to arrive at 09:30am for a photo opportunity. There will be a media opportunity at the end of the event.
