The Academy has opened a call for entry for Best Foreign Language Film Award, inviting South Africans to submit their feature films for consideration.

It was with great joy and happiness that we received the news that the Khoisan indigenous dance group Die Nuwe Graskoue Dancers - a traditional Khoisan Riel Dance troupe – has won Gold in the Group Production Competition at the 19th Championship of the World Performing Arts in Los Angeles this week.

It was with deep sadness that we learned of the fatal car accident of rising gospel superstar Mpho ‘Regalo’ Gangashe recently. He will be buried in Thohoyandou in Limpopo tomorrow, Saturday 16 May 2015. What makes the situation worse was that he was with his mother and daughter who also passed on. It is a triple tragedy for the family. At 29 he was too young to die.

This happens soon after student protests have been raging around the matter of the Cecil John Rhodes statue at the University of Cape Town. These developments threaten to or have spread to other campuses and communities around the country.
