The Minister of Arts and Culture, Ms Lulu Xingwana, invites members of the media to the launch of Heritage Month. The democratic government has designated September as Heritage Month. Heritage Month presents a unique opportunity for all people in South Africa to celebrate their rich and diverse cultural heritage.

Accompanied by soccer legends, artists, and stakeholders in the arts, culture and heritage sector, the minister will announce the theme and a programme of activities. Minister Xingwana will also announce plans around the national heritage celebrations which will be first of its kind in the history of these celebrations. Of special note is that during the launch, people will have an opportunity to view a soccer exhibition.
