Nelson Mandela International Day Celebration

The Minister of Arts and Culture, Mr Paul Mashatile and the Premier of North West Ms Thandi Modise invites the media to the Nelson Mandela International Day celebrations which will be held on Wednesday, 18 July 2012 in Zeerust, North West Province.

The occasion which also marks Madiba's 94th birthday, South Africa and the international community will unite in celebration of Mandela as one of the legendary icons of our time. Citizens of the world are encouraged to dedicate at least 67 minutes of their time to do community work in celebration of the values and principles that the first democratic President of South Africa epitomises. Let us strive to become agents of social change

On 18th July 2012 at 08:30 -10:00, before the main event,  the President, Ministers, Premier’s, MEC’s, Members of Parliament and of Provincial Legislature, Mayors and Councillors will set aside time to do community service under the Nelson Mandela International Day celebrations theme “Working together to create a caring and proud society”

The main event will be held as follows:
Date:                           18 July 2012
Time:                           11:00 am
Venue:                         Dinokana Stadium - Ramotshere Moiloa, Ngaka Modiri Molema District (From Zeerust, remain on N4 (Church Street), Turn right to stay on N4 towards Lehurutse – Drive 35 Km)

Media accreditation will take place from the 17 July 2012 at Nelson Mandela Secondary School, Dinokana from 15h00 – 10h00 and 18 July 2012, accreditation will take place at the main event from 08:00 – 12:00.
