It gives me great pleasure to introduce to you the revamped Kha Ri Ambe internal magazine, marking a turning point in our efforts to not only make stakeholders aware of the work of the Department of Arts and Culture (DAC) but to encourage information sharing and the exchange of ideas towards citizen participation.

 

 

The new magazine comes at a time when the President Jacob Zuma Administration requires seeing service delivery that can be measured in concrete terms. There is now a special focus on Performance Monitoring and Evaluation to make sure that all government officials give their maximum output.

When Dr Joe Phaahla and I were sworn in as the new deputy and minister of Arts and Culture, we addressed a strategic planning session with middle and senior management of the DAC. Outcome 12 – One Government working together

Over the years there has been a growing perception of rising competition, rivalry and non-cooperation among departments and its officials.

The signing of the Delivery Agreement is destined to introduce a new culture of working together among government departments. It means that there will be more cooperation, consultation and team spirit among department officials to pursue the same goals. Acting Director General of the DAC: Veliswa Baduza

 

OUR ASSOCIATED INSTITUTIONS ARE
THE ARMS AND LEGS OF THE DAC

The Acting Director General of the DAC, Veliswa Baduza, would like the associated institutions to work closer with the Department.

Baduza joined the Department a year ago as its Chief Operations Officer. She was elevated to the position of Acting DG following the end of Themba Wakashe’s tenure in the position last September. Baduza has been on the forefront of efforts to get the Department to clean up its act in terms of the streamlining of programmes.
