Declaration of the Voortrekker Monument as a National Heritage Site
On 16 March 2012 Minister Mashatile, the South African Heritage Resource Agency (SAHRA) and the Voortrekker Monument hosted an event to celebrate the declaration of the monument as a national heritage site. The function was attended by Afrikaner communities, the Voortrekker Monument funders and the board of trustees, Freedom Park and the DAC.
