This modular library is here for you to use in developing yourself and acquiring knowledge which you will carry with you forever. The love of books is better instilled at a young age, therefore I advice parents to read to their children daily from an early age.
In their honour this Memorial was built by the democratic government. To perpetuate the memory of these selfless youth and the legacy they provided the nation this day and month have been rededicated to the Youth of South Africa as Youth Day and Month.
South Africa’s freedom from apartheid in 1994 was achieved through national and global efforts all merged in the quest and belief in the dignity of humanity; human freedom; and an equitable and just society.
Africa should rise against the inhumane treatment meted out to our brothers and sisters with Albinism. No child of Africa should fear for their lives because they are born with Albinism.
Our country has a lot of its citizens who have amputed souls, who cannot be noticed through the naked eye. The reason for their amputation is racism.
We need to build a culture of inclusivity and collective beneficiation as an integral part of our endeavours in the development of the continent.
I am proud to announce that on 4th June 2016 we will hand-over a Modular Library to the Nkuri community as a short-term solution whilst we are building a brick and mortar library through the community library conditional grant.
Twenty years ago in this very house, on the 8th May 1996, with great excitement and pride, the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa was adopted.
I am delighted to be part of this august occasion of the 2016 National Archives Awareness Week under the theme “Archives for the protection of human rights, transparency and good governance”.
The South African Government would like to express its gratitude for hosting the African World Heritage Regional Youth Forum from the 28th April to the 4th May 2016. The forum has been eagerly anticipated by the Department of Arts and Culture with the pressing and growing concern to further the reach of World Heritage.
