Celebrating heritage milestones in the 20 years of Democracy



As part of the 20 years celebrations of our freedom and the National Heritage Council’s (NHC) 10 years anniversary, the Heritage Transformation Charter will be handed over to the Ministry of Arts and Culture on Tuesday, 08 April in Pretoria. The Arts and Culture Minister, Mr Paul Mashatile will speak at the event.
The Heritage Transformation Charter (HTC) is a product of extensive consultations with stakeholders in all the provinces in South Africa.
The National Heritage Council has a good story to tell through its achievements in the last 10 years of its existence. The handing over of the Charter coincides with the 20 years democracy. It comprises of a framework of principles, values and mechanism to guide and regulate the transformation of the heritage sector. Members of the media are invited to attend.
