Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe to address North West Social Cohesion and Moral Regeneration Summit

Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe to address the two-day summit on Social Cohesion and Moral Regeneration under the theme: “working towards creating a caring, just and humane society”. The summit will be held at the Mmabatho Convention Centre in Mahikeng on 29 and 30 July 2013.

Issues to be discussed at the summit will include the role of the judiciary, parliament and traditional leadership in promoting fundamental human rights particularly the right to human dignity, equality and justice, preservation of indigenous culture, knowledge systems and problems of xenophobia.

Other speakers to address the summit include the Department of Arts and Culture Minister Paul Mashatile and the patron of Moral Regeneration Movement (MRM) Father Smangaliso Mkhatshwa.

Stakeholders invited to be part of the summit include private sector, academics from institutions of higher learning, traditional leaders, churches, faith based organisations, NGO’s, women and youth organisations, people with disabilities, municipalities, provincial and national departments.
